Maritime History
Built in 1663 for the Admiralty of Friesland, the Friesland was a second-tier 80-gun ship of the line in the Dutch Republic fleet. She played a major role in numerous naval battles during the Anglo-Dutch Wars, including the famous Battle of Solebay in 1672, standing as a testament to the peak of Dutch maritime power in the 17th century.
