Berlin Ship Model Description
Dimension: Length 80 x width 33 x Height 70 cm
Grade A - Museum Quality
Construction of the Boat :
We place a double layer of plank on the hull, Teak wood for the model Varnished.
Deck made with small planks of Beech wood.
Masts, lifeboats and other pieces on the deck are made with Acajou, Beech and Teak wood.
Sails made with cottons.
Ropes are cotton and nylon waxed in the bee wax to do the rigging.
Berlin Ship Model History
A replica of the Batavia was constructed at the Bataviawerf in Lelystad, Netherlands, and launched in 1995. The ship was commanded by Francisco Pelsaert, a seasoned merchant of the VOC. While many survivors reached nearby islands, the wreck was followed by a notorious mutiny and subsequent massacres among the survivor
