Amerigo Vespucci 190cm History
History:Launched in 1931 in Castellammare di Stabia, Italy, the Amerigo Vespucci is a steel-hulled training ship for the Italian Navy, designed by Francesco Rotundi. Inspired by 19th-century line-of-battle ships, it remains an active symbol of maritime tradition and education.
Built as a sister ship to Cristoforo Colombo, the Vespucci replaced aging wooden training vessels. Its three-masted barque rig, 26 sails, and 331-foot length echo the golden age of sail, while modern navigation systems ensure relevance.
